Big Apple Bagels in El Dorado Hills Sponsors First Walk With Austin Kids TRY-athlon

Big Apple Bagels in El Dorado Hills, locally owned and operated by Scott Walters, was a sponsor of the first Walk With Austin Kids TRY-athlon. Participants could swim, run, bike and roll their way through the unique TRY-athlon, which provided athletes of any level the opportunity to compete. The event raised over $34,000 to go towards building an ALL-ABILITIES playground at a park within the El Dorado Hills community. In addition to being a sponsor, local Big Apple Bagels owner, Scott, provided bagels and cream cheese to all event volunteers to help keep them fueled all day.

Inspired by their son Austin who was diagnosed with Hereditary Spastic Paraparesis, a progressive disease that limits mobility, Holly & Adam Reininger founded Walk with Austin in 2019 in order to provide more opportunities for fun for kids with mobility differences. Along with building the all-abilities playground, Walk With Austin has worked to equip a local physical therapy clinic with a LiteGait Therapy Treadmill.
